Another Hairdo Post!

I love doing twinner hair!
I did her hair like this just to try and get the wavy look the next day.  Check out the picture below to see how it turned out!
Pretty cute, huh?  Too bad it takes so long to do all of those braids in her hair!
My niece let me fix her hair.  It was fun to work with longer, thicker hair.

Look how long her hair is getting!

Happy 34th Birthday Riley

Riley and I spent his birthday running a half marathon.  It was actually kind of brutal.  We thought that we would try a trail race, and it was way harder than a road race!  This was also Riley's first half marathon.  This picture was taken about ten minutes before we started.

I was not expecting the race to be quite as rugged as it was.  This is just one of the several sets of stairs that we had to climb.
This person is not me, but I wanted to show how big some of the logs were that we had to jump over.
We also had very narrow trails to run through.
Of course, we also had lots of steep hills with roots to climb!
I finished in 3 hours and 34 minutes.  (I ended up walking the last half of the race.)
Riley finished in 2 hours and 47 minutes.  Riley ran the whole race (except for an occasional hill at the end)!
Happy Couple
After the race we had dinner and birthday cake with Riley's parents and sister's family.  Riley's dad decorated his cake for him.   Good job Tim!
This picture was taken right before Riley blew out his candles.

Fun at Nana and Papa's House

Jaylee loves to hold baby Deacon.

They had fun splashing around in the kiddie pool.

Random Shots from the Past Few Weeks

Brady was running around in the gym at church and fell into a metal chair.  He gave himself a pretty good bruise on his ear!  We are hoping that he doesn't get cauliflower ear...

This is a classic picture of my brother Jared.  He is playing with matches while he is supposed to be lighting my Dad's birthday cake.

Riley took Brady to the Colt World Series when it was here.  Of course, Brady had a lot of fun!

Easton got all dressed up the other day and wanted me to take a picture of him being the superhero, "Flash."

Indiana has been in a drought this summer.  This picture proves it.  The corn field across from us was doing so bad, that the farmers resorted to chopping it down and baling it up to feed their cattle.  It was a sad day in the country.

I tried a new discipline idea with Brady.  I made him go outside and run laps!  Unfortunately it was more fun for him than a punishment.  It was worth a try, I guess.

Easton rode his bike a whole mile the other day.  He was impressed with himself and his drink afterward!

I usually let Jaylee "fix" my hair.  Well, Brady decided he wanted to try it... the above picture says it all.  Brady had that comb completely stuck in my hair before I even realized what was happening.  I called my mom and luckily she was able to come over and untangle it.  No more hair fixing for Brady!

Aunt Shayla made Easton this cute shirt to wear to kindergarten.  He was pretty impressed.

Joey and Lyra Visit

Joey and Lyra came to visit for a few days.  While they were here Emmie and Jonny also came over to play.  It was a lot of kids and a lot of fun! In this picture all seven of the kids were checking out Grandpa's little pool.

My Mom, Sara, and I were brave and took all of the kids to Shades State Park.  We had a picnic and went for a hike.  Everyone was tired when we were done and slept all of the way home.

Kindergartener!!!

Easton is off to school!!  He is in full day kindergarten and rides the bus to and from school.  He has finished his first week of school and seems to really like it.  It is hard to believe that he is big enough to go off on his own and be independent.

Heading out to wait for the bus...

One last picture with mom and dad... he got distracted because the bus was coming down the road.

These two are now on their own.  Brady was pretty sad when he realized Easton was gone and wouldn't be back all day.

Swim Lessons

The boys took swimming lessons for four weeks this summer.  Easton was in level two and is getting to be a very good swimmer.  He loves being in the water.  He even jumped off of the diving board and swam back to the edge of the pool by himself!  He was really excited about that.  Brady was in a water exploration class, and he also had fun.  He likes anything that he gets to do with other kids.
