Jessica Turns 31

I turned 31 last week.  Riley had classes to teach, so he couldn't be home for dinner.  When my dad heard that he decided to take me out for a yummy steak dinner.  When I was little he would take me out to dinner for my birthday, so this was a fun daddy / daughter date.  (By the way,  I know this picture is horrible, but it is all I got.  It is difficult enough getting my dad to pose for a picture, let alone wait around to make sure it is actually a good picture.)

Hair Journal - January 2013

I was especially impressed with Jaylee this day.  It is an upside down french braid into a high ponytail.  I asked Jaylee to lay with her head hanging off of the couch so I could have her at a good angle to do the braid.  She willingly hopped onto the couch, hung her head over the edge, and held still without complaining!

Random Shots from the Past Few Weeks

 Brothers

Jaylee enjoyed her first outing to Steak-n-Shake so much that she fell asleep wearing their hat.

Riley laughed harder than I have ever seen before at this car.  While we were filling our car up with gas he noticed this car come flying into the parking spot.  Then an angry woman jumped out of the car and ran into the gas station.  If you look close you will see that the car is covered with soap from the car wash.  Obviously the rinse mechanism on the car wash broke.  The woman who drove this car was ticked off! Riley thought the whole thing was hilarious!

Easton was pretty excited about his soccer trophy.

The nice thing about the boys having birthdays so close together is that I can do their annual check-ups at the same time.

I have two friends who recently had babies.  Myself and two other girls threw them a baby shower.

Brady went Christmas shopping with daddy.  I thought they were cute.

Brady was the first one of us to come down with the flu this year.  He sure looked pathetic.

It just wouldn't be a "Random Shots" blog post without Chewy sneaking his way in.  He has turned into an old dog this past year and loves taking naps on the couch.

Chewy and Jaylee like to watch the school bus pick up Easton each morning.

Like a typical girl, Jaylee loves getting new clothes.

Will and Talon Visit

My sister and her two boys came to visit during Christmas break.  My kids loved hanging out with them!  This is a picture of them getting ready to watch Monsters, Inc. in 3D.

Pizza King is always a favorite place to eat.

From left to right in order of age: Talon, Easton, Emmie, Will, Brady, Johnny, and Jaylee.

Talon turned 9 years old while he was visiting.  To celebrate we took all of the kids to Monster Mini Golf.  It ended up being a really fun birthday party.

We had some snow while Will and Talon were here.  The kids spent lots of hours outside playing.  Kudos to my dad, who spent lots of hours driving the 4 wheeler around in the cold giving sled rides.

The Hayman's

It does not happen very often that all of my siblings and I are together.  It took some work, but I finally convinced all of them to take a picture together.  From left to right: Jared, me, my dad, my mom, Jennifer, and Joe.

Christmas Day 2012

They are always so excited to go and see if Santa came.

The boys got a Hot Wheels Wall Tracks.  It is a pretty fun toy!

Riley got right to work putting together all of the kid's new toys.  I always think he is cute doing dad chores.

Riley's grandma made all of the girls some Barbie clothes.  This is picture of all of them holding their new Barbies and Barbie clothes.

Here is a fashion show from Jaylee's barbies wearing their new clothes.  (The four modest Barbie's are wearing grandma's clothes.)

We had the traditional Wii Just Dance party a few days after Christmas.  This year we let the kids participate.

Papa was able to keep all of the kids attention while putting on plays with the Little People dolls.  That is quite an accomplishment.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with Riley's family this year.  It was filled with all of the regular Christmas traditions.  We made gingerbread houses, acted out the nativity, played the Candy Bar game, and of course got matching Christmas pajamas.  As you can see, Jaylee was very proud of her first gingerbread house!

Of course, we had to get the annual cousin pajama picture.  It is pretty crazy trying to get that many little kids to pose for a picture.  This was the best picture from our camera.

The Gibb Family  -  Christmas Eve 2012

For the nativity: Brady was a wise man, Jaylee was an angel, and Easton was a cow.  They did a great job acting out their parts.

Here Comes Santa Claus!

Two is a fun age at Christmas time!  Jaylee was very excited and nervous about meeting Santa Claus.  She thought it was a really big deal!
