Sporty Kids

My kids were looking pretty cute last week, so we had an impromptu photo shoot.

Random Shots from the Past Few Weeks

While all of Riley's family was in town, we had a Cousin Baby Shower for Melanie. Melanie's baby is due in June. All of the cousins picked out a book to give to the new baby, and then Papa read some to them while we ate cookies and popcorn. It was a fun time, and I think all of the kids enjoyed being a part of it.

This is what happens when you get a bad report from your Sunbeam teacher two weeks in a row! Too bad he looks so cute in this picture!

We recently discovered that Barnes & Nobles has storytime on Friday evenings. We went to check one out and The Cat in the Hat was there. All three of our kids thought it was pretty neat. Brady was probably the most excited, but he got a little shy when it was time to take a picture with him.

Sewing Projects

T-Shirt Dress

Riley had an idea to make a little girl's dress out of a T-shirt. I thought it was a great idea, so I pulled out an old t-shirt and got to work. The dress was made entirely from an old t-shirt, the only thing I had to have to make it was some thread! I am really proud of how it turned out, especially since I didn't have a pattern. I just looked at a few of her other dresses and started cutting!

Turtle Blanket

This blanket was for Elsie's birthday. I was going to make one of these blankets for all of my neices and nephews this year, but after only three blankets I am already feeling burned out. I think I am going to take a break, so my four March birthdays will have to wait until next year. Sorry!

Superhero Pants

I made the boys flannel pants and used the scraps to make Jaylee a little skirt. It always makes me happy when the boys ask for these pants when I am getting out their pajamas!

Valentine's Day 2012

We have started a great Tuesday night tradition with my parents. My parents watch the kids while Riley and I go running together. When we get back from running, my mom has dinner ready to come out of the oven! Valentine's fell on a Tuesday this year, so we did our usual Tuesday thing. Riley and I got to have a running 'date' and then we ate heart shaped pizza and cake.

It was really cute to watch Easton fill out all of his own Valentine's for his party at school.

My kids all looked cute at church. My mom made all of her grandson's Valentine's ties, and Jaylee had a new outfit. Of course, this was the best picture that I could get of all three of them!

I know I said that I would stop posting hair pictures, but I figured that holiday hair was exempt from my rule. Jaylee got lots of attention from her heart hair!

Jaylee's Big Girl Bed

We spent some time rearranging our house. We had all three kids in one room and then used the other bedroom as a playroom. We finally decided that it was time to separate them. The boys now share a room and Princess Jaylee gets her own room. While we were moving furniture around; we decided to put Jaylee in the toddler bed that Riley made when Easton was little. Jaylee likes her new room and has finally learned how to stay in bed and not fall out!

Jaylee's Hairstyles

My new hobby is fixing Jaylee's hair in different ways. It has been fun trying new things. Amazingly, Jaylee will sit still and let me fix her hair. She has even sat for 15 minutes at a time! I have gotten most of my ideas from blogs and websites. I have taken a ton of pictures and thought that I would make one blog post about it and then quit thinking that I have to take pictures of every hairdo. Even though they are all so cute to me, I realize that not everyone is as excited about it!

This picture is actually of my nieces. They were nice enough to let me fix their hair when they were here visiting a few weeks ago.
