Easton Turns 3

Today our baby turned 3 years old. I can't believe how fast it has gone. Easton is such a good kid. He is always happy, very observant, and creative. He always makes us laugh with the things he says and does.

Easton took Rice Krispy Ghosts to church to share with his nursery friends. After church he told us that they sang Happy Birthday to him and liked his treats.

Easton and Brady

Brothers are so much fun. They already play together really well and are great friends!

Lightning McQueen Birthday Cake

Easton gets really excited about birthday cakes, and for his birthday he requested a Lightning McQueen cake. Riley and I got creative, looked for ideas, and produced a fun cake for him! I was really excited about how this turned out.

Easton was way more excited than this picture shows. No nap and nursery at church tires a kid out, even a 3 year old!

Easton and his friend Owen were all about eating the Oreo chunks that were used to make the road.

Mason Autumnfest

Happy Family on a Hay Ride
This weekend we went to a festival in town. The boys got to play games and take their Halloween costumes for a test run! Easton is a bat and Brady is a skunk.

The Bat in a bouncy castle.

Can you guess what kind of balloon animal Easton asked a clown to make? It is a 4-wheeler! At the festival they had a few clowns making balloon creations. While we were waiting our turn I asked Easton what he wanted the clown to make him. He said, "A 4-wheeler." The look of shock on the clown's face was priceless, but he was creative and got it done! He said that it was the first time anyone has ever asked him for a 4-wheeler. I am not surprised!

Family Home Evening

About a year ago we started doing Family Home Evening. Easton has loved it and Family Home Evening has become a good tradition in our home!

Last Monday we made crafts for our activity. Nana sent the ghost for Easton and Brady to make. The framed leaves are my creation. I have really enjoyed watching the leaves change this year and decided to try and capture all of the beautiful colors.

Of course, treats are an important part of our Family Home Evenings!

Ruby, Stella, and Pumpkins

We had visitors this weekend! Tyler, Emily, Ruby, and Stella made the 6 hour (7 with kids) trip to come see us. It was great to hang out with them and Easton and Brady loved seeing their cousins. While they were here we went to a pumpkin patch and carved pumpkins.

Riley and Tyler beginning on their pumpkins. I was wondering if this would turn into a competition, but surprisingly it did not.

Okay, so we picked out the hardest pumpkins known to man. Riley was not being dramatic with the saw... that is what it took just to cut the top off of the pumpkin!

Tyler's method was to use one of my pots like a hammer to pound the knife into the pumpkin.

These were seriously the hardest pumpkins ever. This is Riley after 2 hours of working on it! I can just see the joy on his face.

Finally done! Tyler's is on the left and Riley's is on the right.

These two were pretty excited when the pumpkins were done.

2 brothers... 2 kids each!

Emily and I tried roasting the pumpkin seeds. They didn't turn out too bad.

Corn Maze

The place where we picked out our pumpkins had a corn maze too. It was fun to see the cousins running around together in there.

Purdue Family

Last weekend, while we were visiting family, Riley and I had the chance to go to a Purdue football game. Even though Purdue lost we had a great time. It was also great to have a free and good babysitter so we could have a few hours without kids!

Sweet Easton

One day while Easton was playing with his blocks, he came running to get me. He said, "Look Mommy, I built a house!" It was the best house that I have ever seen so I took a picture of it.

Brady was not blessed with the ability and desire to take good naps like Easton. I felt so bad one day when Easton fell asleep on the chair. He had been waiting for Brady to quiet down before he could go get into his bed, and I guess he just decided that he could put himself to sleep!

Brady's First Hair Cut

Everyone has been bugging me to give Brady a haircut. I have been putting it off, because as most of you know, it will make him look like a toddler and not a baby anymore. I was not sure I was ready for it, but we cut his hair anyway.
Mommy and BABY one last time, before Aunt Melanie turns him into a little boy.

BEFORE
Well, I guess he actually did need a haircut.

AFTER

His haircut turned out pretty cute after all. He may not look as much like a baby anymore, but compared to Easton he definately is still a baby. I am just not sure if I am ready for 2 little boys running around my house!
